As you can see we are in the process of giving the blog a facelift for the new year. Still playing with a few ideas but the basics are the same, click on a link and it should take you there. There are now 2 travel albums as you probably have all seen the 2013 photos and don't need to keep seeing them :)
Where have we been and what have we been doing for the past 3 months you ask !!!
While in Carnarvon we took a day trip to the Kennedy Ranges (these photos are in the 2013 Album). It was quite a warm day so we only did a few small walks but we found a good camping ground and will. definitely be taking the bus back sometime to explore the rest of the area.
From Carnarvon we decided to go to Warroora Station as we had heard a lot about the place and had never been there. We found a nice little spot and set up camp ready for some exploring over a few days.
While trying to decide whether or not to stay for a few more days, Paul had messages regarding a possible contract up north so we hummed and haaa'd for a while before deciding we should head to Exmouth for better phone & internet coverage. We thought if the job didn't happen then we would check the weather n work out which direction from there. We also forgot to fill one of our water tanks so naturally that sped up the decision making !!!!
As is happened the job went ahead so we high-tailed it back to Perth to prep for a early November start.
In between Paul's shifts we have been for a few days to Logue Brooke Dam and Lake Towerninning. The bus also had a 2 week holiday at the mechanics getting a new radiator, fuel pump rebuild and various maintenance bits n pieces.
Mid December we started heading down south for the Xmas period, spent a night on the Blackwood River before the clouds started building up and we thought maybe it wasn't a good idea to stay if it got too wet, yes the memories are still too fresh !!!
Checked out a few camp sites which were full then decided to give Windy Harbour a try for a few nights. Headed out and then gave the Chesapeake Road a shot in the bus ... result equalled car full of dust, bus part full of dust and blocked road in which there was no way we were going to get the bus through, so after looking for a way to get through we backtracked and headed for the Shannon National Park for the night.
So after landing at Dan n Trace's place in Kentdale we have been relaxing n kicking back, had a day trip up to Perth for the Willans' Xmas do on the 20th, then Marie (Paul n Dan's Mum) flew down and spent Xmas and a few days with us.
Xmas day was nice and relaxing, cheese n bikkies in the morning at the beach then prawns n snapper galore for dinner. And no Taj didn't overindulge we just couldn't resist setting up the shot !!
Just realised that this is starting to get a little long-winded so we might leave the New Years news until next week :)
Keep Smiling :)
